The preamble of the Insurance Ordinance 2000 is to regulate the business of the insurance industry, to ensure the protection of the interests of insurance policyholders, and to promote the sound development of the insurance industry and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Subsequently, the function and powers of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman were strengthened under the Federal Ombudsmen Institutional Reforms Act, of 2013. FIO help desk is established on the premises of GCCI to facilitate the members of the GCCI in filing complaints against any insurance company, arising out of the insurance policies as well as their officers will also facilitate/ receive complaints on behalf of all Ombudsmen.
